(What's new there, right?) It may have been Windows Firewall all along preventing access, although why didn't it prompt for that before, and why didn't I look there? (Yes, I use Norton Sec Firewall, but Win Firewall did nonetheless through a prompt.) So, it's hard to say exactly what the issue was. (Another Possible Solution) After backing out all except Anti-Beacon, NWP was working and I was presented with a windows firewall prompt regarding allowing NWP to access public wifi which I allowed. Now, I'll back out and re-enable everything except Spybot Anti-Beacon and reboot and see if NWP still works. (A Possible Solution.) I finally went through and removed all blocks in Spybot Anti-Beacon 1.6 and now I am able to login to NWP.

The driver needs to be reinstalled." I've allowed the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter to fix the problem, which it reports it has done. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager has a driver problem. Laptop is Win10Home and desktop is Win10Pro.įinally, I've now noticed there is one thing that has changed on the laptop. Also, both machines are running Windows 10, ver 1703, OS Build 15063.483. (For the record I have essentially the same setup on my desktop and NWP works just fine there. With all of this NWP still just spins and never loads. I also added Program Controls for NWP in Norton Security Firewall, specifically for Norton WiFi Privacy.exe and NWPService.exe, both in ProgramFiles(x86)\Norton WiFi Privacy\client\*. I disabled all of these and rebooted and then ended any remaining tasks, so that the only security related processes were Norton Security and possibly Windows Firewall and Defender. (I realize that this is likely over-kill.)

But for full disclosure I'll include the list: Norton Security 22.9.3.13, Malwarebytes Premium 3., Spybot 2.6, Spybot Anti-Beacon 1.6, Hitman Pro 3.7, SuperAntiSpyware Pro and CCleaner. However, all of these were running when I did have NWP working a week or so ago so it seems unlikely that any of these are the culprits. I do have other programs running that could be a factor. (NWP worked fine when router firewall was set to medium.) All of that. I've checked my Comcast Gateway/Router firewall settings, changing setting from medium to low made no difference. I've run Norton Remove and Reinstall (NRnR.exe) several times. (I generally only use NWP on my HP Pavillion laptop when I'm away from my secured home router.) I turned NWP on this morning and got, and am still getting, the spinning donut indicating "loading." (See attached PDF.) I've tried several times removing NWP via Programs and Features in Control Panel. I have run a couple of LiveUpdates in that time. I hadn't used it for a week or so, so I can't say exactly what might have triggered the change. I added it to my subscription about 2 months ago, May 18th. I too had NWP running well up until today. Everything in this thread to this point mirrors my situation.
